Saturday is the mid-autumn festival. I was so imminently want to introduced the festival in my blog.  the happy day  considered a harvest festival since fruits, vegetables and grain had been harvested by this time and food was abundant. it was a time for relaxation and celebration. the food for celebrated the festival included moon cakes, cooked taro, water claptrap,a type of water chestnut resembling clack buffalo horns.
The moon cake is the symbol food in the festival. the cake were made with melon seeds, lotus seeds, bean paste. a golden yolk from a salted duck egg was placed at the middle of the cake. Why people eat moon cake in chinese traditional and modern mid-autumn festival? First, the custom of worshipping the moon can be traced back as far as the ancient Xia and Shang dynasties. the shape of the cake is like a moon, so we called the cake "moon cake"there also a story about the moon cake. durning the yuan dynasty, china was ruled by the mongolian people. The  civilian were were unhappy submitting to the foreign rule, so they want to rebellion in the day of the moon festival. in order to spread the information for the civilian without being discovered. the leader ordered the making of special cakes. backed into each moon caked was message with the outline of the attack.  On the night of the moon festival, the rebels successfully attached the government.  so, moon cakes are eaten to commemorate this war.
How the people celebrated the moon festival in nowadays? people get together do some special customs. such as planting mid-autumn trees, burning incense, lighting lanterns in towers and fire dragon dances. people like look up at the full silver moon, drinking wine to celebrate their happy life or thinking of their relatives and friends far from home, giving the best wish to them.
At last, I  missed my family so much in china at the mid-autumn day, I will sending my best wish to them. I hope they will be healthy and happy everyday.
